  1. We presented our projects today, and overall, we made a good impression for the day. In my case for room #1, I decided to leave the animation for the escalator alone just so I focus on the actual scene. Instead, I will code in a fix lateral movement to make it seem you are moving up the escalator, and I believe using a waypoint system could do the trick. As for the scene itself, I have to finish the random movement of the light balls, and I have fix the baking lighting effect on the light balls and tunnel (which itself needs to be fixed as the texture needs be inserted to all specific faces).

  2. I wasn't able to attend this session, but I did leave the group some notes on what I've been working on for room #4. I hope the project is looking good so far.

  3. On Monday's class, we presented the current state of our installations and we received great feedback. For my room (Room 2), my mirror path was a bit too blocky, but my half-intentional spacing of the mirrors was able to work. After the feedback I received, I will try to make the path more distorted and hectic, instead of having it be two parallel lines of mirrors . Also, another piece of feedback was to make the room more realistic (i.e including images and their projectors, different kinds of reflections, and to fix the scale of the people models).

  4. Today we had our check-in presentation. For room 3, I got a tip on how to fix the flickering real-time lights, and was advised to obstruct the view of the pipe grid by either extending the branches or adding more wisteria/willow leaves. Room 4 got a load of feedback as well, such as deciding whether we want attendees to sit or lie down (beanbags leave both options open), making the color palette unique from the other rooms, and thinking about using floor visuals to lead attendees into the dead end spaces. We also discovered we hadn't made room for a route between Room 4 and the lobby, be it a slide or an escalator. Lots of information was exchanged, so I'm glad I wrote it all down.
