Today was our final class of the semester and we presented the Unity model of our installation.

  1. Overall this semester's tech production went pretty well due to our great team and our communication. I think we did well with the fleshing out of our ideas. The occasional check ins really helped our group push to meet soft deadlines and get the job done. Due to my experience with Unity, I felt like I could've added more to my room (room #2), but it was a great starting point. I felt that my concept was good but due to my lighting choices, it was hard to see the mirrors. Also, I wasn't able to put add animated shaders or videos to the objects/materials, and an LED pattern to the LED chandelier above the project.

  2. Overall, I think we did a pretty decent job given that we've never really worked on a project like this before. For this attempt, I think we definitely put in a lot of effort and worked well together. We were constantly asking each other for input or advice and everyone was willing to help. There are some more things that I would've like to include, especially for my part of the project. I would've liked to fix the escalator that returns to the lobby so it wouldn't look so out of place, but we honestly didn’t think it through in time. I feel like we also underestimated the scale of the entire installation because some of the rooms don't exactly align as intended. I think we started from a good blueprint, but as we added and tweaked things, the plans changed. Some more interactivity would've been nice, but we just couldn't dedicate enough time and energy to that. Instead, we wanted to focus on having all the rooms modeled. I think we did a relatively good job of conveying the concept we came up with in the beginning. I do like that each room depicts a different meaning of rest because that is what we were going for. Of course the project could've been better with more time and more ideas, but for the most part, I am pleased with our work.

  3. MIA, due to being ill. Tested negative on rapid covid test a week prior, but now thinking it might be covid, if not, a really terrible timed stomach bug w/ nausea that refuses to go away. Either way, sick and couldn't sit up without everything spinning.
