I *finally* have a decent looking maze pattern for Room #4 made from the curved walls. I had pixel patterns and sample silhouette images converted to materials and I planned on adding those to the walls. This would replicate the concept of projecting the person's silhouette on the wall in front of them. However, the 3D model I used for the curved wall is being annoying and is only adding a solid color from the material, not the actual image. This is really ruining the room and needs to be fixed ASAP. I also need to add some kind of furniture in the 'dead end' parts of the room since we wanted those areas to be a place for people to just sit and take in the experience. I'll try to find something resembling bean bag chairs that are comfy and relaxed without being too proper.
I swapped in Cindy's tree (as promised) and started importing models I found on Sketchfab for the foliage. Unfortunately none of the materials loaded in with their textures in the right slots, so I spent the whole time manually configuring them. We also made up our midterm grade by presenting our progress on the room.
On Monday's class, I decided to remove a few of the wall illusions. I also found a mirror asset package to create a path of mirrors that the audience will follow. But I think the problem with the mirrors is showing the class the special effects of the mirrors (i.e. distortion). Lastly, I added an LED asset to make it look like the infinity lights from our old Miro board.
On Monday, I finally found a decent escalator model to work with. Now I have to animate it (cause finding free escalator 3d models seems impossible). I fixed the tunnel to fit with the size and shape of the escalator. Lastly, I created two scripts and worked on one of them; One was for the purpose of instantiating the dim light balls and move them around the tunnel and the other was for the animating escalator's objects to stay in position (though I am thinking I might not need it).

ReplyDeleteTrying to figure out what else I can add to the project. Made crystals as spoken about before hand to hang onto the ceiling/tree.
